Pete Howell
RV-9A
March 20, 2004:
A few updates and a picture of my project:
I am currently riveting the lower wing skins on my QB RV-9. As you
can see in the picture, it has become a family affair as both my 10
yr old twins, Ryan and Megan, have become capable rivet shooters.
Problems arise when the supposedly "skilled" bucker makes
an error. Many thanks to Tom Berge and Alex Peterson who have
offered advice and have inspected completed parts.
I also am closer to meeting requirements for my PPL, having done my
first solo X-C and hoping to fly my second solo X-C soon

Pete received his Private Pilot certificate June 6, 2004. Hmmm.. that looks like an RV grin!
August 1, 2004:
Now that baseball is done, I am back at it hard with the kit. My QB wings
are done and I am attacking the fuse. I built a rotisserie for the QB fuse
to get better access. If anyone is interested, contact me for more pics,
it was easy and less than $100 for the parts.
I traveled to OSH with Bernie Weiss. It was a great inspiration to keep
pounding rivets!
Bernie and I have formed an informal builders group as he is few months
behind me on his -7 between the 2 of us, we can figure most things out.
