Dick George, RV-4, Winona, MN

After 3000 hours and 3 years, N1322D flew on June Ist 1989. Engine is a 0-320 -160 hp with a Pacesetter prop. Gyro panel includes Loran, GPS, comm, encoding altimeter, transponder, and an extra hole for a glide slope.

Family and friends helped me build it in a 13 foot by 26 foot garage including the painting. I have added a cockpit controllable oil cooler temperature control door and filtered air control. I also added rear seat brakes, rudder, throttle, and mixture control. One learns to appreciate the great front seat visibility after flying this plane from the back seat! (yes I did have a person in the front seat for proper CG).

My wife and I have flown across all of the lower states, both coasts, numerous trips to Oshkosh, Apostle Islands on Lake Superior, and trips to Minnesota from Tennessee - all VFR. I'm just as happy today with my decision to build Van's plane as I was 12 years ago. Many good memories and many more to come!
