First Flight - John Pratt, St. Cloud, MN
May 5, 2001
Finally, after 6 years of somewhat sporadic construction, in 5 different locations, N142JP entered the roll of flying RV-6A's with Ace Test Pilot Tom Irlbeck at the controls. The date was April 27th, 2001.
Since then, (It's now early July) I've added several hours to the Hobbs, the 40 hr. test period is flown off, as are the aerobatics (courtesy of Tom), and both the aircraft and I remain undamaged. Now all I need is the flying experience and a paint job worthy of a great little airplane!!)
Ed. note: John's airplane is just coming out of the paint shop as of September 17th.
Update: November 11, 2001
Here's 142JP after it's spanking new paint job. Northwoods Aircraft Painting did the work. They are located in Park Rapids, MN and John reports they did a great job at a reasonable price.
