First Flight -  Greg Klema, Rock Island, IL, RV-4

Flash!!  Greg's RV-4 wins a Bronze Lindy at AirVenture 2003!!!!!

First flight was 8-25-02.   Plane N number is 427GK.  Lyle Hefel was the test pilot, few problems, just a couple of gremlins, one oil leak and a heavy left wing.  Hot day, the tower averaged our ground speed at 175 at 3000 feet. Empty weight with oil was 1081, a little heavy, maybe due to the base coat /clear coat paint, plus some repainting.

Engine is an 0-360-A1D with Hartzell prop.  Lyle says the plane handles well on the ground and in the air.  I can attest to the flying part... I am doing some training from the back seat using rear rudder peddles when building. The other change would be making the canopy a slider instead of a flip over.
