20 years of RV building and flying experience to the table.
He uses his IFR-equipped RV-7A as a trainer based out of
the Crystal, MN airport.

Tom Irlbeck, Somerset, WI

Tom is a former Navy Top Gun instructor pilot and retired Northwest Airlines captain. He has over 2000 hours in all models of RVs up through the RV-10. He has been a flight instructor for over 40 years and was recently appointed as an EAA Flight Advisor through EAA chapter 66 in Florida. He has completed dozens of "first flights" for RVs and other amateur-built aircraft and is available in the Twin Cities and Minnesota area during the summer months. He can assist you in planning for your initial test flight or provide RV transition training to meet insurance and proficiency requirements
Tom splits his time between Wisconsin and Florida and is usually back "up north" from May to October of each year.

He has also conducted several initial test flights of RV aircraft. He has a hangar at Lake Elmo Airport, just east of St. Paul, MN.
