Kevin Knutson - RV6

Well, she doesn't have a name, but she goes fast, upside down, lots-o-G's and has longer legs than my antique bladder will allow.  Just under a 100Hrs this fall, and after 197 landings so far, you would think I would be better at them....   A set of new tires n tubes sits on the shelf ready to install.  Figure I can get a few more rough n ready touch and goes out of the ol Air Hawks before I swap em out.   The only mechanical headaches so far have been self-induced.  (Note to self:  NEVER attempt any electrical equipment maintenance with power on the aircraft....  )  Only let the "magic smoke" out once, so far. Short X-C trips around the five-state area this summer were the average fare.  A day trip to OSH for the show met my expectations, and home for dinner that night exceeded them.  Biggest trip to date was out to Great Falls, MT. in August.   About 5-1/2 hrs each way.  These RV's can cover some serious territory before lunch!   Forest fires in western Montana on the way out had us landing in Lewistown, MT because of bad vis.  Clear skies, 1-1/2 SM FU.    Kept N80KD in a B-17 hangar overnight (An interesting story and place to check out further sometime).   Looking forward to further adventures of the RV-kind....
