Doug has been President of the Minnesota Wing since the early 90's (just about the same time he started his RV-4). After 12 years of construction time, N722DW finally flew in spring of 2003. Doug retired from flying for Northwest Airlines in 2008 and finished his new RV-7 in 2012. The RV-7 is now approaching 1000 hours of flight time. He shares a hangar with Paul Hove at Lake Elmo Airport.
Bernie has been a pilot for many years and is a proud repeat offender having built a RV-7A and his current RV-9. He flies out of Anoka County airport in Blaine, MN where he also keeps his cross-country cruiser, a Beech E33 Bonanza. Bernie's day job is a financial executive for Hubbard Broadcasting in St. Paul, MN.
